L'Oreal Paris Unlimited Mascara

The Product & Claims
L'oreal Paris Unlimited Mascara $12.99 (Walgreens)

Product description as shown on lorealparisusa.com :

Instant lash-lift effect and intense lengthening mascara. Inspired by the makeup artist hack of pending the mascara wand for added control and ease of application, Unlimited Mascara's unique two-position wand can be used straight or bent to customize your lash look. The bendable brush also makes application precise & effortless, allowing access to harder-to-reach inner and outer corner lashes.  The stretchable formula glides on lashes to build up any look with no clumps or flakes. Mascara lasts up to 24 hours.
Now let's get into this review!
This mascara comes in black packaging that is very simple with a bendable wand design and perfume bottle silhouette.  As far as design goes, although the shape has a cute silhouette, in my opinion it isn't functional and actually makes it a bit bulky.  I personally apply mascara on the go so this mascara took up quite a bit of real estate in my makeup bag. The wand is bendable and is comprised of a cone shaped wand with plastic bristles.  The brush itself was not what I expected since the picture on the site appeared to be made of hair-like bristles which is what I prefer, but I didn't find any issues with it when it came to application. The brush did well at separating the lashes and distributing the product evenly. The bendable wand design initially seemed a little gimmicky to me, but I definitely can see this being great for who needs more control in applying mascara (i.e. someone who has shaky hands or has a difficult time with application in the harder to reach areas).

I prefer a formula that helps to lengthen and add volume that is highly pigmented.  For reference, my lashes are naturally straight so I always need to curl them before applying mascara. In typical L'Oreal fashion the formula was in fact very pigmented and helped to darken my lashes enough to show up in pictures. It did make my lashes look longer, unfortunately, I didn't notice any additional help with lift. I personally found that the mascara didn't build well to help with volume.

Overall, I wasn't impressed enough to replace my holy grail (Lash Paradise), however, I do think the design of the wand would be beneficial for beginners or those that need more control when it comes to application.  For me... unfortunately this one is a pass. I think this mascara left mascara left much to be desired especially when there are other mascaras in the drugstore that perform much better.
